This report presents an analysis of the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) from two integrated coal gasification fuel cell (IGFC) power plants that use solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology to convert syngas to electricity. The two plants are differentiated primarily by the Fuel Cell Island technology used, one representing an atmospheric-pressure fuel cell power island, and the other a pressurized fuel cell power island combined with gas-expander power recovery.
